Scannán na hÉireann is the special focus dedicated to Irish cinema by the 4th Torino Short Film Market (November 21st – 23rd 2019, Turin) in collaboration with the Galway Film Fleadh and IRISH FILM FESTA.
On Thursday, November 21st, the panel “Green Shoots – Why Ireland?“, introduced by the director of IRISH FILM FESTA Susanna Pellis, will discuss Irish production highlights, examining its location possibilities, film funding opportunities and its rich festival circuit both at home and in the wider diaspora.
The panelists are Eibh Collins and William Fitzgerald (Galway Film Fleadh), Jennifer Smyth (Screen Ireland), Derry O’Brien (Network Ireland Television), Mick Hannigan (IndieCork) and Tristan Heanue (filmmaker, actor and producer).
A short film programme, curated by Eibh Collins, will screen on November 21st and 22nd.
Scannáin na hÉireann will take place at the Circolo dei Lettori (via Giambattista Bogino 9, Torino), with the support of Culture Ireland, Screen Ireland, and the Embassy of Ireland to Italy.
